I solve problems. It's what I do.
Before becoming a Doctor of Optometry, I worked for 25 years as a human factors engineer, solving complex, "gnarly" problems for businesses. Think of me as a Research & Development consultant. I was good at it, but I wanted something more immediate, direct, and meaningful in the domain of neurorehabilitation, for I had rehabbed myself, following a moderate TBI at 11 years old. I wanted to help other brain injury patients recover. I just didn't know of a career that believed recovery was possible.

In 2015, I saw the book, "The Ghost in My Brain", featured at my public library. This book tells the story of one man's TBI recovery via neuro-optometry by Dr. Zelinsky, OD and cognitive rehabilitation by Dr. Markus, PhD. After researching the neurorehabilitation field, I was hooked, and I chose neuro-optometry as my second career.

I am looking for private practice, hospital, or academic opportunities where I can focus on what I love most: neurorehabilitation, developmental/pediatrics, and VT.
